What is “The Aleit Way”?

What is “The Aleit Way”?

In the year 2009, CEO Hans Roosenschoon and Founder & Chairman, Aleit Swanepoel had a dream. A dream to educate event and wedding coordinators throughout South Africa. These event and wedding coordinators should not only do their job well but should also look great while doing it.

The Aleit name is synonymous with bespoke occasions and extravagant trademark events and Aleit achieved this by putting his own unique print on each and every wedding and event that he coordinated.

Even as The Aleit Academy grew and developed, we’ve always strived to produce the best of the best in the industry! On our campus, and in our prospectus, service excellence is a basic principle! How do we do it? Well, it’s all about the mindset! The mindset and principles of The Aleit Academy carries over to our students and ultimately, to the rest of the industry.

Here are a few key principles we believe in:

– Serving Heart

“Kindness, quite simply is the rent you pay for the space you occupy on earth.” This quote by Robin Sharma is something Aleit himself lives by. The hospitality industry, which includes event coordination, hotel- and tourism management, is known for being a serving or service industry. People who choose to work in this industry are often people who love to serve and whose job satisfaction comes from pleasing their clients.

The Aleit Academy students start their journey from the bottom, by being service staff at weddings and events. This in essence, teaches them that no job is too menial and that working your way up is important to understanding all the tasks and processes that form part of this serving industry. We always remind our students that changing the world starts at home. It’s all about getting into the habit of doing the little things: always offering your guests some coffee or water, providing them with a small snack, even if it is a short visit, and ensuring that your guests always feel welcome and at ease.

– Perfection

“Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence.”

Perfection and excellence go hand in hand and that is what makes The Aleit Academy’s students and graduates the very best! Every napkin laid, every glass set and every chair placed needs to be perfectly aligned with one another.

From the first day our students walk through the doors of our beautiful campus on Lourensford Wine Estate, we teach them to be attentive to the smallest details, because we believe that being detail-oriented is what sets you apart from the rest of the world. Attaining excellence is a lifestyle! A professional standard is expected from day one – ensuring there is a professional email signature underneath each email, ensuring all your documents are double, or even triple checked for language and grammar, and that all emails are structured formally, even when sending them internally. Perfection starts from within and at The Aleit Academy, it becomes a way of life.

– Excellence

Excellence is defined as “the quality of being outstanding or extremely good.” We believe that every day is a “school day” and what better way to learn, than always striving to be number one. We do not settle for being less than the best. We strive daily to be innovative, to dream big, to be better than we were the day before. We strive to not only match the gap in the market, but to also give the world something they didn’t even know they needed.

Although you cannot always be perfect, our positivity and zeal for constantly striving for perfection is motivating to staff and students. Striving for excellence, daily, and having the mentality that you can always be better, brings out the very best in our students, and is what makes The Aleit Academy such a wonderful family to be a part of.
