In the international arena of events, seminars, conferences, sport and recreation symposiums, the demand for qualified and skilled staff has increased phenomenally. Hospitality Managers and Operators have traditionally filled positions in a variety of these areas, due to their training within the services sector. Graduates with a hospitality training background are ideally suited to the events industry, but the demand for greater numbers of qualified graduates with specialist skills in particular areas is constantly growing.
Although the number of hospitality training providers has increased in recent years, very few educators or recognised institutions provide specialised skills training for the industry. This has created a frustrating situation for leading companies and employers, and has resulted in many resorting to training their own employees to suit their specific requirements. Unfortunately, this does not help to lessen the problems faced by a rapidly growing industry.
In South Africa little effort has been spent to develop event management training, in spite of the fact that many new and exciting venues with world-class facilities are increasingly being developed across our country. For this reason the demand for highly skilled, competent and professionally trained event coordinators, planners and managers has never been greater.
With the combined expertise and experience of The Aleit Group and the ICA, The Aleit Academy addresses this need and offers a comprehensive curriculum that enables aspiring event managers and planners to become qualified, competent professionals.
